Calamba Medical Center Performs First Open-Heart Surgeries in Southern Luzon

Calamba Medical Center (CMC) has successfully performed its first Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), Mitral Valve Replacement, and Carotid Endarterectomy procedures—marking a major step forward in delivering advanced cardiovascular care in Southern Luzon. These life-saving interventions are now more accessible to patients in the region, thanks to CMC’s expanding capabilities and commitment to clinical excellence.

The procedures were carried out by a highly skilled and collaborative multidisciplinary team:

Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery (TCVS) Team:

- Dr. Christopher Ocampo

Cardiac Anesthesiologists:
